FAQ

1 / What is this? Who are you?

It's ok. We can explain. This is a podcast where a brother and sister breakdown a piece of pop culture in each episode to determine if it has "shelf life". Meaning, would it be something worth putting on your shelf and keeping it for posterity.

2 / Ok...so what kind of episodes do you have?

Good question. It is kind of whatever we want. We try to keep a variety of different topics, one show might be an action movie, the next show a tv show, the next a comic book. This is a never ending journey where we plan to cover as much as we can as we document everything and anything that comes to mind.

3 / How in depth do you go with each subject?

Well, depends on what you are thinking. We aren't in any of the creative businesses, we are simply fans. So each episode we will discuss a little bit of how something got made, but our focus is looking at the story and plot point by point, making observations or theories and whether or not what we are breaking down is entertaining. But as we go through the story, we try not to skip a beat, meaning our episodes are pretty long compared to other podcasts. But you won't want to miss a minute.

4 / How long is pretty long?

Yeah, that depends on the topic. But you can expect each episode to clock in at about 3 hours or more. But don't be intimidated. We wanted to give the option to binge or anticipate, so, for the longer episode subjects, we break down into multiple parts. We even have Short Cuts, shorter versions of some of the subjects in case you want to skip or download little by little. And hey, it's a podcast. You can always save your spot if you can't get through the whole thing in one sitting or save an episode for a long day at work or a trip or listen to a little each night during the week. You'll be fine.

5 / That makes me feel better. How often do you come out with episodes since they are long form?

In true collection fashion, Shelf Life is broken down into volumes. Each volume will contain anywhere from 8-12 subjects, maybe a little more or less. When a season starts, each subject comes out once a week until we get to the Main Event (the last episode of the volume). After that, it may be some time, probably a few months before you hear from us again. Then the cycle repeats.

6 / Is there any way to support the show or give feedback?

We'd love to hear about subjects or episodes you'd like us to discuss.  If you have an idea you think we could do to improve the show or just letting us know if you agree or disagree, send an email or leave a review where you found the podcast.  But no ranting or rudeness. We are doing this for entertainment.  But the biggest way to support the show is to subscribe, rate, review, and most importantly spread the word. We love making the show and want to continue doing for as long as it's fun. Keep in mind if you think we are wrong, then you're wrong.

7 / Anything else I should know?

Nnnnnoooo....nothing I can think of.
